Fabulous Friday - Queen of Hearts

It's Friday - yay!

Hope you are all having a great day and looking forward to the weekend.

Our challenges over at Polkadoodles are now, always, Anything Goes.  So why not pop along and enter you could win $10 to spend in the Polkadoodles download store.

I have used the wonderful Winnie in Wonderland Collection for my hubby's Valentines card. Couldn't resist adding the Eat Me sentiment :-)

All the pieces for this card can be found on Design Sheet 7 in the collection.  You can buy just the Design Sheet on it's own too :-)

For the bottom layer of the front and the inside of the card, I pulled out two papers from the collection that had already been printed from another project.  I couldn't resist using the fabulous Polkadoodles Elegant Nesting die (this is the middle size of three in the set).  And two hearts left over from the Design sheet.

As always, all the edges of all the layers have been inked.

I add some foam tape to some of the layers to add a little dimension to the card.

I am entering this card in the following challenges.

Penny's Paper-Crafty Challenge - Challenge #316: Anything Goes (closes 21 Feb)

Digi Stamps 4 Joy - Challenge #133: Anything Goes + Red for Valentines (closes 26 Feb)

'Tis Tuesday - Tutorial (Video) - Using Polkadoodles Collections and Silhouette Design Studio

Hi everyone.  Hope you are all well and busy crafting bees :-)

So, I finally got around to doing something that I have been meaning to do for ages!

I have wanted to do some video tutorials combining the Polkadoodles Collections, how I create and how I use Silhouette Design Studio and the Cameo for my crafting.

My first recording has gone live!  Using the Polkadoodles Design Sheets in Silhouette Design Studio.

You can view it on Youtube if you prefer, or you can watch it here on my blog :-)

I used Winnie Sugar Sprinkle Design Sheet 2 and Winnie in Wonderland Design Sheet 3 in the tutorial.

The other day I downloaded OBS Studio (Open Broadcaster Software) and had a little play.  It is really easy to use and there are a few tutorials out there to get the initial set up done.  I only want to use it for recording my screen in Silhouette Design Studio, so there was nothing to in depth about it :-)

I hope that you understand and if there are any questions, please leave them in the comment section, or you can email me (if you click on View my Profile there is a link on the left). Also, if there is something you would like me to do a tutorial about let me know :-)

I will also try and do some tutorials of how I design and create my cards using Silhouette Design Studio - from start to finish :-)

Hope that you enjoyed the first tutorial.  Please excuse the Welsh accent - it really stands out on recordings LOL!

You can pop along to our Polkadoodles Digi Choosday blog and enter our weekly challenges, there might even be a discount code (valid today only) there for you to buy some digi's :-)

Thanks for stopping by my blog today.

Happy crafting.

Fabulous Friday - Wish it was Spring :-)

Spring - I can but dream :-)  It's a long way off yet though and there's plenty of snow on the ground to remind us it's still Winter.

But in my crafting I can show Spring :-)

Our challenges at Polkadoodles are now always Anything Goes.  The Design Team were asked to used only a Design Sheet from any of the collections for our cards this fortnight.

I have used the delightful Winnie Sugar Sprinkles.  This is Design Sheet #11 from the collection. It can, however, be also purchased as the single Design Sheet too - so if you need a quick card, why not pop along to the Polkadoodles store and look at all the Design Sheets available. Of course you could check out all the fabulous collections too - they are such a bargain!

I cut all the pieces using my Silhouette Cameo - but they are great to cut free hand too!

I did use one piece of card stock that has been embossed, with a Cuttlebug Geometric Rings emossing folder, for the backing on the front and the inside of my card.  I used the Spellbinders Pierced Oval die for my message panel and used the spare little bird house for the inside too.

I have inked all the edges of all my layers and added some dimension with foam tape.

Don't you just love Winnie, she is so adorable.

I will be entering this card in the following challenges.

Penny's Paper-crafty Challenge - Challenge #313: Anything Goes (closes 31 Jan)

Creative Moments - Challenge #110: Anything Goes twist Keep it Feminine (closes 6 Feb)

Crafting When We Can - Challenge #136: Spots and/or Stripes (closes 4 Feb)

Thanks for stopping by today.

Happy Crafting.

Fabulous Friday - A Little Shabby Chic

Happy Friday everyone.  Wow these days are really going by quickly. Before you know it, it will be Christmas again LOL!

Anyways, first off I would like to apologise for my lack of blog visiting over the past few weeks. Now that things are returning to normal I will be visiting again and seeing what you have all been up to.

Polkadoodles challenges are now always Anything Goes, so if you craft anything you can enter the challenge.

As part of the Design Team we were given the brief to use a die cut, you can if you wish follow along with that or not :-)

I have used a fabulous new download collection called Belle Papillon.  It is shabby chic and vintage all rolled into one.  If you like stamping, there are also complete kits with stamps, papers, dies and the CD for you to play with - why not go take a look in the Polkadoodles store today - HERE.

Everything on my card is from the collection, except the background leaves for which I used the Super Sprigs Polkadoodles Die - I printed of a paper from the collection and then used the die.

For the inside I have started merging my layers using the Silhouette Design Studio program.  I do all my card designing in there, then all I do is print and cut all the pieces.

I have inked all the layers and all the pieces before assembling my card.  I adore those butterflies, they look so delicate.

I love the soft pastel colours in this collection, but with a little ink on the edges it really makes them pop.

Once again, I hope to be picking up the crafting bug again and will be catching up with all of you soon.

I will be entering this card in the following challenges.

Penny's Paper-Crafty Challenges - Challenge #312: Anything Goes (closes 24 Jan)

Crafty Sentiments Designs - Challenge: Anything Goes (closes 23 Jan)

Digistamps4Joy - Challenge #132; Anything Goes optional twist Love (closes 31 Jan)

Thanks for stopping by my blog today.

Happy crafting.

Fabulous Friday - Merry Christmas everyone!

My oh my!  Is it really nearly Christmas!

For some reason, I wasn't very organised this year but hey we got there in the end.

We are still running our challenges over at Polkadoodles over the Christmas season, so if you get anything new for Christmas and can't wait to play, then come along and enter your creations.  Our challenges are always Anything Goes.

For my creation this week, I used a simple panel from the wonderful Studio 12 - Picknix 2 - Gingerbread Twist collection.

I used four panels and cut three of them down at different levels, to add dimension to the canvas.

I couldn't resist adding some snowtex to the edges and some glitter pen to the lettering - it's so much more sparkly in person :-)

I was trying to get a better picture with this one - but it's didn't really work, did it LOL!

That's it from me till after Christmas.

Wishing you all the joys of the season, hope that you are able to spend it with your families and friends.

MERRY CHRISTMAS
xxxx
