My husband says.....

"The lights on but nobody's home!"  Men!!

I decided that I needed to do something about the quality of my photographs, so this is what I made this morning.

Its my very own home made light box.

The two standard desk lamps I used, have low energy (CFL) daylight bulbs.  I found these to give the most natural looking light instead of standard bulbs which tend to be a bit yellow.

It really does work.  Here is a picture of a card, just sat on my desk:-

And the picture of the card taken in the light box.

I still have to play around with it some, but I feel it definitely gives a better and truer picture of the card.  The colours also seem to show better.

So not crafting per se, but I did build it:-)

Happy crafting everyone.

  2. Hi Karon! This great, I need to work on the quality of my pics too. I always end up taking them late at night so they tend to be on the dark side. Thanks for stopping by my blog today and leaving me such a sweet comment :D Take Care!

  9. My daughter and I made a light box, and I think it may be the same way you did yours.
I tried it (I only have a point and shoot camera) and my photos came out with a blue, pink or yellowish tinge.
    My daughter had better luck.
Glad it is working out for you.
I am not patient enough to play around with my limited settings on my camera, lol.
