Pretty in Pink

Hi everyone, continuing on from my previous post and the Origami card (or Napkin fold card), I actually really enjoyed making this one and hope you haven't found the tutorial (click here) too daunting.

Here is the inside of my card.

After making all your folds, this is what I did.

I cut 6 squares, in blue, 1 7/8 " by 1 7/8".  These squares were then cut in half diagonally so you end up with the 12 triangles.

I cut another 6 squares, in pink, 1 3/4" by 1 3/4", and again into triangles.

I matted the pink and blue layers together and, using my Cuttlebug, embossed them using the folder Baby's Breath.

The centre square, blue was cut at 4" and pink was cut at 3.75".

Now onto the outside.

The belly band was made in two layers with the overall width being 1.5" (in hind site I probably would make the band 2.5" wide next time).  Between the two layers, I secured my long piece of ribbon to tie it closed. Again this was embossed as above.

I secured only the back of the belly band to the back of the card.

The front was decorated using the Flower Shoppe cartridge  (Scallop 1) for the roses, cut at 2" and 3".

The leaves were from the Art Philosophy cartridge, page 56, cut at 1".

Added some little pearls to finish it off.

At the request of one of my followers Lori, her blog is The Singing Shell , I have added some close ups of the roses on my card :-)

And one at a lower angle:-)

The sentiment on the front is from When The Scrap Hits The Fun, its a freebie.

This card is being entered into the following challenges
