Something Different #7

Today is the next in the folded card series.  This card is called the Diamond Fold card.

You can make three card bases for this fold from one piece of 12" by 12" piece of card stock.

You will start off with a piece of card stock that is 4" by 12".

You firstly need to score at the 2", 4", 8" and 10" points.

Next you will need to put a small pencil mark at the 6" point, at the top and bottom, this is for the position of the next score marks which are going to be diagonal.

Score from the top of the 2" point to the bottom 6" mark, and from the bottom of the 2" point to the top 6" mark.  Then the same for the other side, so from the top of the 10" point to the bottom 6" mark and from the bottom of the 10" point to the top 6" mark.  It should look like this.

Start off by making all the vertical lines, valley folds.  Your diagonal folds are to be mountain folds.  Make them nice and crisp with your bone folder.

Once scored this way, you will all ready see your card base start to form - so it should look like this.

Next, all you need to do is push the ends towards the middle and then push down on the centre diamond to flatten your card.  When closed it will look like this.

And then standing up, like this.

One more to the side to make sure you can see how it works.

Thats it, so this is your Diamond fold card and now you need to decorate it.

Here is my card.  I have shown it you flat, so that you can see which parts to decorate.  Its down to personal choice, you don't need to decorate the smaller triangles, but you can see these when its standing; so I did.

The papers I used are from the G.C.D.Studios Antiquities stack - its a beautiful stack of papers.

The clock is from the Sophisticated cartridge (page 57) and is cut at 2", I inked the edges a little.

The layer under the clock is embossed using my Cuttlebug and the Sizzix Diamonds folder, I also distressed this with ink to accentuate the diamonds.

The butterflies are from the Art Philosophy cartridge (page 41) and cut at 0.75".

The stamp is from a See D's stamp set called Springtime Swirls, that I bought in the UK quite a few years ago.

I am entering this card in the following challenges

{Pin}spirational Challenges - #18 - photo inspiration (closes Aug 6)

Paper Playtime - Challenge #80 Anything Goes (closes Aug 4)
