Back to crafting!

Hi all you lovely blogging friends.  The kids are back in school:-)

I have to admit I am happy.  After 10 weeks of keeping them occupied, I am really glad that school has started.  I had a lovely summer, weather was awesome and we had some fun times but I'm glad to have my space back:-)  Is it just me or do we all feel like that in some way or other?

So this morning I hit the craft room and this is what I came up with.

My card base is cream, pre-folded and measures 8" by 3", from a very old stash of cards and envelopes from the UK.

I used the Art Philosophy cartridge for the butterfly (page 55) cut at 2".  I added some pearls to the body and only glued the centre of the butterfly to add dimension.

Also the layer for the sentiment (page 54) cut at 1.5".

The papers are from the Recollections Timeless pack. I inked the edges to give it a little distressed look.

And a bit of ribbon to finish.  I also did the inside of my card :-)

This card is being entered in the following challenges.

Simons Says Stamp and Show - Challenge: Read all about it (closes 9 Sept)

  1. Now I really like this Karon! It's elegant and beautiful. Your colours and design are gorgeous. I also have cards this shape and have no idea what to do with them rather than waste. I must look at them this way instead of long way up. TFS my friend. Hugs Pamela

  4. Such an elegant card...truly lovely! I love the butterfly! And, you are NOT the only one who feels that way. When my boys were home, I was always thrilled to see "back to school" sales because I knew school was getting closer and closer...lol! Don't get me wrong, I love my boys dearly, but after about 2 months of "togetherness", it was time for things to get back into a routine! Enjoy your peace and quiet!

  27. My week is the opposite! NO CRAFTING!!!
The students started back this week.
I have been doing 2-1/2 hours of outside duty each day in 90+ degrees AND our school DOES NOT have air conditioning.
Since my reading and math groups haven't started yet I've been helping out in the kindergarten classrooms. AND ALL over the school.
Needless to say when I get home it is all I can do to eat dinner.
I have been so exhausted I can't even think to craft.
I think I have been suffering from a little heat stroke, too.
Enjoy your crafting time and a little for me.
As things settle down I'll have more time to create.
