Non-Krafty Karon :-(

Hi my wonderful bloggie friends.  I just wanted to give a quick apology for the distinct lack of crafty posts this past few weeks.

Having a pretty rough couple of weeks emotionally, although I am meeting my DT requirements, as I am not one to shirk my responsibilities, I have found it quite hard to find my mojo.  The girls think I may have left my marbles behind in Syracuse :-)

I am missing hubby quite hard these past few weeks but the good news is, he will be home for the Easter long weekend as of Thursday night :-)

Anyways, I am going to try and get into the craft room a few times this week and endeavour to get ahead on a few things that will also mean I can then do some stuff for me and not just for DT commitments.  I have been meaning to do this for several weeks, but just haven't been able to get motivated.

A little sneak peek of a card, for Friday's DT post at Polka Doodles, just to keep you interested!

I have been visiting you all and boy have you all been up to mischief amazing creating :-)  You will have to let me in on your secrets.  What keeps you motivated?  What inspires you?  Let me know, if you leave a comment.

I hope you all have the most creative and fabulous week.

Roll on Thursday night :-)

Thanks for stopping by today.

Happy crafting.

  1. Don't worry, you're not alone, Karon. I've been having a tough couple of weeks to! The only person I'm missing is ME! I need some ME time. Work is a nightmare and most days I get home well past 9pm! And like I barely manage to get the DT stuff done, then my blog stuff, and there's all that Bloglovin/Google brouhaha ...aaaaargh! Tell me YOUR secret. How do you "Stay Calm and Keep on Commenting"?
    hugs, Asha

  3. So happy to hear hubby is coming home!!! Like yourself I have been lacking putting out posts as well, to get motivated I just take the well deserved break and keep up to my committments like yourself! If I don't find my mojo I usually google search new card folds , new techniques etc... that gets me everytime for I find I actually have to pace myself getting back into the craft room. The great thing is we are always here for you in bloggy land!! Hugs

  4. I'm so glad your hubby is coming home for a long weekend!! I hope you have a wonderful time together!! I struggle with my mojo, quite often actually. I used to stress if I didn't post at least every other day, but now I mostly just post for DT commitments. When I do get to my craft room, it takes forever for me to do something I like. When I'm really struggling, I scour the internet for projects and tutorials and videos to help me get my creative juices flowing again. Sometimes a little time away helps, too. Your sneak looks fabulous...I can't wait to see the whole project!! I hope you are feeling crafty again soon my friend, and that you spend a happy Easter with your whole family!! Hugs!!

  5. Oh my ...I think most of us can relate to Mojo that has gone MIA! When it hits me I just don't want to do anything. Happy for you that your hubby will be home soon - it is so hard to be separated from those we love. I hope you and your family have a wonderful, long weekend together! Your little sneak peek is looking very adorable - loving the sweet pinks I see and look forward to the reveal ♥

  6. I too, think most of us loose our Mojo sometimes. I tend to focus on my list of things I want to try or watch youtube videos and just go with the flow. I also look at it as my mind and body is getting me rested up and ready for when my mojo comes back. Glad to hear you will have a long weekend with hubby. Love the little bit of the loopy flower in your tease peek.

  7. Karon, I know what you are feeling (loss of mojo) is not unique. Been there done that for sure. For me to get back in the mood, I sometimes peruse magazines or look at past projects. I also look at blogs for challenges to sometimes give my mojo a shove. LOL!

OOOooo! Your little peek of your upcoming project is super cute! Can't wait to see!!

    Feel better Sweetie.

  8. Hey Karon I'm sending you BIG HUGS.
I know you miss him but remember he'll be home soon.
Try this... it is what I do when I miss my mom (she passed 22yrs ago)
Close your eyes and picture him then give yourself a great big hug.
It is not the same as the real thing but it might help some.
    I'm sending you an email!

Your extended bloggie family have all at time hits times that we pull away from crafting for a while but rest assured we will all be here for you when you get your mojo back.

  11. My sweet friend, I am so excited your hubby will soon be home for a tiny bit! My heart will be extra happy knowing your entire family will be together again. I'm sorry you're having to be apart so often, and that it's such a hard thing, but I know you'll only grow stronger from it. Lots of love to you, Karon! Contact me anytime, okay? I'm always here to help.
As for your craftiness, firstly, you should never apologize for not having posts! Take it from someone who only averages one or two cards per week... that is perfectly FINE! If you need a break, or if you only have time or energy enough to post less frequently, there is nothing wrong with that. There is so much more to life than feeling the need to post as often as possible. When mojo is lacking, I like to peruse pinterest, experiment with a new technique or play with a new stamp... but most often, I just hone in on the person I'm creating for. That person will inspire me in some way, even if it won't be the fanciest card ever made. Take a deep breath, pick a favorite image or cut or theme, and just let your mind relax. You just might surprise yourself. :o) (I'm totally rushing, so I'm sorry if this doesn't make sense. But I wanted to reply before I have to go meet up with my mom.)

Lots of love and blessings to you!!! :)

  12. Seems as though you might have hijacked your daughter's flower maker? Nothing better than to borrow someone else's tool to find that mojo! I'd noticed your lack of posts and thought it might be about your hubby (or even the larger than normal amount of work that comes along with having a spouse absent for so long). Sometimes, I craft with Brandy to break me out of the mojo slump. Sometimes I insist on crafting with Brandy when I see her mojo slump even if she's not quite feeling it. She'd do something nice for me before she'd worry about looking out for herself. Sometimes, I need to just take a break and do something else. You've talked about your cross stitch, maybe it's time for a cross stitch project that could invigorate your paper crafting? My final suggestion- forgive your lack of mojo and let your hubby come home. Recuperate missing him and see what happens. Sometimes, we're just not as productive in our crafting as other times. We love to hear from you on our own blogs and we'll wait patiently for you to get back to yourself. Still, I'm looking forward to Friday!

  13. I totally understand how emotions and missing your hubby takes a hit on mojo. I'll be looking for the card you've given us a sneak peek of! I bet your mojo will be in full swing next week after the long weekend with your man. :)

  14. Karon, I think you're just not feeling whole. You're missing a special part of your well being. It kind of makes everything a little out of sync. I predict after this weekend you will be much better.
Now can't wait to see this new card.

  19. I can totally relate, there are many things happening in my life that get me down these day but I try really hard to press on. I know if my hubby was working out of town a lot, I'd really be feeling down so don't worry it's all good. Life is a constant roller coaster and taking a break will help recharge the ole batteries. You know I've noticed that whenever I create a project, I usually need a couple of days to decompress before starting a new one. That probably sounds crazy but I kinda feel drained when I'm done. Anyway, its late and I'm bouncing all over the place :D Big Hugz and Thursday will be here in a blink of an eye!! Take Care!!

  23. Sorry your mojo is on vacation. If it makes you feel any better, I started three cards today. Two ended up in the garbage. They were total ickiness. The other one I kept was clean and simple, a look I struggle with--but it was the only thing worth putting a stamp on today! Don't let blogging feel like an obligation--nothing will suck the fun out of it like the burden of obligation. Take care....and thanks for all your kind words when you visit my blog!

  24. Karon don't feel bad, we all lose our mojo at one time or another. You'll get it back soon. Sometimes my heart wants to create til no end but my mind just says aw, maybe later or another day. I sometimes don't put my computer on when I want to create because that way I don't browse and I get lots done ;)
