Getting ready for back to school!

WOW - where has the summer gone.  Only seems like yesterday that they were finishing.  Now 9 weeks later and they have one week to go, before everything returns to normal.  Well as normal as it can be, would be better if Andy was here :-)  Oh hang on, he will be - well for this weekend anyways!

We decided to get a photo taken of the girls before they go back to school. So I thought I would share it with you, as it turned out so well :-)

Emily is on the left and is 12, she will be 13 next Feb and then that is Shannon who turns 15 this November. Where does the time go?  Only seems like yesterday the were little babies and I have to share this one with you :-)  Emily at 15mths and Shannon 3 1/2 yrs.

As far as getting ready for school - we decided to sort out their binders and Shannon's notice board.

We did the same last year - bought plain white folders and added papers to the sleeves, both back and front.

Here are four of  Emily's, to show the papers she chose (the zoom boop one is for Science) and then we cut out vinyl with my Silhouette Cameo to do the subjects on the side.  We used the font AR Julian off my computer.

And here are four of Shannon's, to show some of what she chose.  The font we used on these was called Aardvark Cafe.  That is just five of the eight subjects Shannon is doing this year.

For Shannon, as she is in High School and has a lot to keep track of, she has a notice board in her bedroom. We made up some little magnets to go with her subjects this year!

As and when she has assignments due, or tests etc, she can put the appropriate magnet on the calender. All cut using the print and cut feature on the Silhouette Cameo, and then I just placed some thin magnetic strips on the back.

Eiffel Tower (free clip art) - for French.          Black cat (free clip art) - for anything miscellaneous.

Test tube (free clipart) - for Science.              Dance (Silhouette shape filled and font typed in).

Briefcase (Miss Kate Cuttables I used one of the set of 3) - for Civics and Careers.

Hola (Silhouette shape filled and font typed in) - for Spanish.

Book worm (Miss Kate Cuttables) - for English.

Addition sign (free clip art) - for Math.

WWII (Silhouette shape filled and font typed in ) - for History.

They are both really pleased and now super organised.  We went out and got all the other bits, pencils, pens etc etc etc last week.  So now all ready for going back to school.

And there you have it.  They go back on the 3 September and they are so looking forward to it :-)

Thanks for stopping by and sharing a bit of life and back to school.

Happy crafting.
