The start of something.......

Crafty!  Well of course crafty - what else would it be LOL!

I hope you are all having a great start to the week.  I decided to get something done, but it's going to take a little while - well not too long hopefully.

I am not even going to tell you what it is - nah nah, nah nah, naaaahhh!!

I is so wicked ain't I :-)

Anyway, I will show you the first two steps I have completed.

Firstly, I gave (not telling you!) it a coat of Gesso.

Next, I used Modge Podge Matte and covered the (still not telling you!) item with white tissue.

Still a bit wet there, but you can see all the nice wrinkles.  I think I will do a second coat of tissue.

So, I am keeping up with one of my goals, that of posting on my blog every other day!  Are you bored yet LOL!

I wonder if you can guess what "IT" is ?

I took the girls to see "Saving Mr Banks" on the weekend.  Oh my - what a fabulous film and I am not ashamed to say I cried at several points in the film, especially the end :-)  Tom Hanks and Emma Thompson were the perfect actors to play these parts - highly recommend it!

Thanks for stopping by today.

Happy crafting.

  5. I'm guessing it is a large vase and it is looking gorgeous already. What is Gesso and what are its uses? I've heard it mentioned by different people
    .
That movie sounds great. I love Tom Hanks and Emma Thompson.

I have a funny story about Tom Hanks; at least it might have been Tom Hanks. I was at the Lambton Mall in Sarnia, Ontario and someone who looked exactly like Tom Hanks was standing in the hall by one of the stores. He was watching in amazement as people just walked right passed him. This was in the 1990s when he was appearing in a LOT of movies. I was half-thinking of approaching him, and always regretted that I hadn't, but I just didn't have the courage to do it.

  6. Hmmm..it sort of looks like a photo frame? And you are altering it? I say this because doing that is on my to do list from an idea I saw. LOL My twin nieces when they were 10 or 12 I think, started in the movie Castaway with Tom Hanks! They were some of the children in the background during the Christmas Eve dinner scene. :)
