Could it be grass? And a Messy place!

Hi everyone.  I hope you are having a great start to the weekend.

Thought I would share this little photo with you.  Do you see that sort of stringy looking stuff?  I can hardly remember what it is called!  Do you think it could be GRASS!!!!!!  It rained a lot yesterday, yes I said rained and look a little bit of the green stuff (well sort of green) along the edge of the path!

So Spring could be on it's way but lets not get too far ahead of ourselves, eh!

Now I hang my head in shame as I show you the Messy place, aka my Craft room :-)

The corner desk - not too bad.

Paper corner, naah not too bad.

Mwaaaha ha ha ha - craft table - messy messy messy :-)

Even Jess, the cat, said "I'm not sitting here, humph, no way!"

And look what 50 minutes of time can do, whilst the girls were at Youth Group last night.  Corner desk, reasonably tidy and see there, getting ready to make 16 envelopes and then the box :-)

The paper corner - a little bit tidier but now I need to get some die storage as it seems to have grown a little!

And the craft table - well - all clean and ready for creating :-)

So, I had a couple of requests.  You remember the little soldier card I made and that I mentioned I used to be in the Royal Air Force (UK), well I thought I would share a photo of me in my number 1's (uniform for parades etc).  Check out those shiny shoes - a lot of hard work went into those :-)  The hat style did change towards the end of my career, I still have that hat though, it's the only thing I was able to keep, along with my dog tags :-)

And just one more in a more relaxed mode :-) I apologise for the quality of these two photos, they were taken when digital wasn't around LOL, so these are off the real photos and scanned :-)

Them were the days and yes I was blond! :-)

I want to say thanks to all of you who visit and stop by.  It means so much to me that you take the time to come visit.

Happy crafting.

  4. OH you big tease....showing us green grass like that!! We just had our first hail storm yesterday, but the grass is finally turning that putrid yellow, brown, mold green color. Spring just might be fixin' to pop forth.
Your craft room is GORGEOUS. I looked at ALL the nooks and love the way you organize. You can see that it's obviously a wonderfully crafty creative area to be in. Thanks so much for sharing HOW beautiful are YOU!! Your RAF pictures are wonderful!!! And to think that they are REAL photographs too...even more special. My husband would more than approve about the shine on your shoes too..LOL. What a process that is!! :)
Thanks so much for the peek into your life :)

  6. Great craft space. Love seeing your pics. What a history you have. My hubby shined his army boots like that, too. They called it "spit" shine. It was like a mirror.

  7. Thanks for the inspiration, Karon. My craft space is a disaster and I don't even know where to start. Good for you, getting that tidied up. My cats try to clean up my paper mess by swishing it with their tails. Fling, fling, fling! Scraps, die cuts, sentiments - it all goes.

    Nice trip down memory lane.

    Blessings on your weekend,
    Teresa

  11. Yay for grass - isn't it a wonderful thing?! It's been nice and warm here already in southeast Alabama - green grass and budding trees. I hope spring reaches you soon my friend.

Your craft room isn't messy-it's the sign of a creative mind! Looks like you made lots of progress getting it whipped back into shape.

Wow - you look so "official" in your dress uniform. Great photos and great memories for you. Have a wonderful weekend and I'm sending you warm, springtime thoughts!

  13. Great pics of you in uniform...if you saw the one of me in my nursing uniform compared to today, I know which one I prefer...the starched aprons, black stocking and looking professional....

Wouldn't we love a house alone for a crafting place...I have a small room but if kept tidy and being a tidy person, it's still good to scrap in...have a great day.xx

Oh and does your grass get green again? Ours is green all year.xx

  14. Super LOVE the pics of your space!!! The before was not that bad...LOL!! Looking great and ready to mess up again!!!
I laugh at the grass pic cause we had lots of grass up until about 2 hours ago when it started dumping LOTS of snow again.... for real??? I thought this was spring :(
Love the pics of you! Thanks for sharing these Karon!

  15. Yay for rain. Melt snow melt!
We have been having record breaking rainfall here.
    I could make you feel better and show you how my craft space looks but I think I'd loose my camera in there right now. My 2x2 {ft} table space is now down to 6x6 {in} of working space. Time to clean. BUT it messes with the creative process so maybe later. lol. {that's my story and I'm stickin to it}

  17. Love your work area, both messy and cleaned up ;)
I did a "clean your desk challenge" on my FB page…not to many took me up on it, even though so many complained about their desks, lol.
Those are both wonderful photos of you :)

  18. You look good in uniform! :)

Well, my craft desk looks worse when I'm in production mode because I work on multiple projects...so you're okay! ;)

  21. Awesome photos of you from the days. Looking good! Thanks for sharing and I thought I would be seeing a photo of lots of grass and no snow. LOL I do hope spring shows up for you soon though. And your messy craft room looks like mine most of the time and when I clean it, it doesn't stay clean for long but yours does look fabulous. Is it still clean? :)
