Day 9 - If you go down to the woods today....

Hi everyone.  Well, we made a bright start this morning and off to Muir Woods and The Golden Gate Point.

We wore long trousers and jackets, for the first time in a week, as the temperatures were around the 62F (16C) mark.  Wonderful for a walk through the woods.

It was nice to see the main trail had boardwalks, however, the other guys did go off trail and there were some rather tricky paths.

These Redwood trees are amazing. The ones in Muir Woods are Coastal Redwoods.  Will you look how tall they are!

Emily trying to hug the tree :-)

The first faces :-)  I just want you to know, I do not actively go looking for these, I do enjoy the scenery, however these faces just pop out at me LOL!

A good one of the hubster and I :-)

Does this remind you of "The Scream" :-)

Wildlife - yuk!  This is a banana slug - we thought it looked more like a green jalapeno LOL!

And spotted this Spotted Owl :-)

And another face - ahhhhh, their everywhere! :-)

How tall?  Taken by Emily.

How nature recovers itself, this tree had fallen, but still survives and now has it's own mini forest attached to it.

We didn't have time this trip to actually go into San Francisco, but did make it to the Golden Gate Look Out point.  Emily took this fabulous photo.

Had to get the photo of Alcatraz :-)

San Francisco Bay.

That's it for today, but a little tale to tell.

We arrived at Merced and our hotel, in 100f heat and the hotel room was even hotter!  I think at this stage I was over tired, and broke down and we all came to the agreement that we needed to change hotels, as we all really needed a good nights sleep.  Husband being the star that he is, arranged for a different hotel and we stayed the night (and tonight) in Los Banos - wonderful hotel and slept really well.

We are off to Yosemite National Park today.

Tally of miles 251 yesterday.  Total now stands at 3239 miles end of day 9.

Returning here to Los Banos for the night.

Thanks for stopping by everyone :-)
