Life getting in the way :-)

Hi everyone.

Just popping in to say hello.  Not much crafting being done at the moment - in fact none at all :-(

We are having new carpets installed next Monday, so I have been busy pulling up the old carpet.  I have done two sets of stairs, and boy there were tons of staples to be removed.

I have also managed to remove all the carpet in the master bedroom, so only the landing and two more bedrooms to do.

All the beds have been taken apart and my dining room/living room looks like a storage room.

I wanted to share something else with you too.

My eldest daughter Shannon, who is currently in Grade 11, has wanted to be a vet since she was 8 years old.  It's what she plans to do, well to be a veterinary technician.

As part of this semester she is completing her Co-op (work experience) and she was lucky enough to get it at a local small animal clinic.  She is loving it!  Only week two, and she has seen several operations and loads of other interesting things.  I am so pleased for her as it is really her dream.

I am having a bit of a ramble aren't I.  Just wanted to let you know that things are good, just a bit hectic.  Hopefully by the middle of next week, things will return to normal - well as normal as they can be :-)

Andy is still in Winnipeg, no end in sight yet!

I hope you are all well and I will try and keep up with visiting you all.

Have a great rest of the week.

Back soon.

Happy crafting.

    My daughter wanted to be a vet at one time as well, until she realized that she would have to operate on the animals, teehee.

  9. You are super woman. Pulling up carpet, maybe 30 years ago I could have. But I sure wouldn't tackle it alone. Congrats to Shannon. Hope Andy gets to come home soon for good. Take care.

  13. I just finished reading this post and then laughed out loud when you said Andy was still in Winnipeg. If I knew you were gonna be ripping out carpet...I'd stay there too!! LOL. ;) Sounds like you're having a blast with the hard work but the end result will be awesome. Congratulations to your daughter too. What a blessing to see her dreams coming true. Can't wait for pictures too! (Of the carpet, not the animal surgeries, please.)
    HUGS!

  15. You are amazing - pulling up carpet by yourself. And happy for Shannon. Good busy-ness, as my cousin would say (but God knows she'd never be pulling up carpet. lol). Can't wait for you to awe us with another project soon.

  16. I saw on FB that you were pulling up staples...ugh...what a job. I am glad your daughter is enjoying her internship; it is good experience to see all sides of a job before you sign up to do it.

  18. Such a great opportunity out in the field for your daughter! All the best to her!

    We will be pulling up some carpet in the next few weeks to install hardwood in certain common areas--I am so nervous about the dust! It has to be done though as we have 2 cats and it'll be easier to clean when the baby arrives. Hope everything goes smoothly on your end!

  20. I'm checking in. Glad to hear Shannon is enjoying her stint as a CoOp worker. I need new floors, so I'll admit to a tiny bit of jealousy. You should post some pictures when you're done. We'd love to see!

  21. Life has taken a tole on my crafting time, too. {work life that is}
    Sadly it has drained me of most of my crafting mojo. {I hope it returns soon. I miss it. lol.}
    So happy for Shannon. Glad she is getting the chance to live her dream.
    Take care my friend.
