Sketch It Saturday

Hello everyone!  How are you all?  Did you have a fabulous week?

You may have noticed the little change to the blog, just a bit of change.  With winter here, I felt I needed something Spring like and bright.

If you read my previous post, HERE, then you will know I have been struggling of late.  I think it maybe the time of year, with Winter and lack of sun, and the aftermath of Christmas.

Anyhow, I decided that it may help if I had lists, or a structure of what I want to do with my crafting and my blog.  I want to try and share more, and be more crafty than of late.

So, I will unravel it all as I go, because I don't want to commit to something that may not happen, if you know what I mean.

To start off with, I thought I could make a Saturday, a Sketch it day.  So, look for a sketch, or a challenge sketch and make something.  Helps with the try to find that mojo :-)

This morning, I decided to use a sketch from Tuesday Morning Sketches along with some fabulous Polkadoodles pre-coloured digis.

I love using the design sheets off the Polkadoodles CD, as they generally have all the elements you can put together.  This one is from the new Polkadoodles Work & Play 9 - Love and Kisses collection.  Nikky, has been busy adding lots of the new collections to the digital download section of the shop, so no more waiting for the postie.  Check the thumblinky below, for other options to purchase individual digis too.

I added some foam pads to the image layer, to give the card some depth.  I couldn't resist adding some Sakura Gel Pen to the papers and image and where ever seemed appropriate :-)

I inked all of the edges and then distressed them with my Tim Holtz distressing tool.

For the inside I did two simple layers and added some hearts that are cut using my Cameo and they are SVG files on the CD!

This CD is perfect for weddings, engagements, even Valentines.

That's it for today.  Hope you enjoy the rest of your weekend.

Contemplating..the whichness of the why!

Hi everyone.  How are you all?  Hasn't the month of January just flown by.

I have spent the last week or so contemplating on where my blogging and crafting is going.  I have to admit to procrastinating about this too.  I need a new look for the blog, I want to craft more, I want to blog more, but the mind is a fickle thing and doesn't want to let me go there or anywhere.

The distinct lack of posts this month, shows how I am struggling with it all.

However, I am coming up with a plan and I hope to put it into action sooner rather than later.

I have decided I need a focus, I need direction, I need order of some sort.

So, I am going to start to make lists.  Lists of things to do, techniques to try, things to achieve over a set period, anything to get that creative thing happening, that seems to have been absent of late.

Let's see where this takes me, will it help, will it happen.

I have a GDT spot next Tuesday with Die Cuttin Divas, for their Feb sketch challenge.  That is all done and ready to post.

I of course still have my fabulous Polkadoodles DT and will be posting on Friday of next week.

I hope to get this blog where I want it to be, and my crafting where I need/want it to be!

I appreciate each and everyone of you that takes the time to come visit and encourage me.

Just keep doing what you do and make me smile everyday, with your fabulous creations, inspiration, and musings :-)

Thanks for stopping by.

Happy crafting :-)

Little bit of Stitching.

Hi everyone.  Thanks for your Birthday wishes last week - kept it quiet didn't I :-)

Hope you have all had a fabulous creative week.

It's Friday and the start of a new challenge over at Polkadoodles.  Our challenge this week is Case It - we ask that you choose a  creation from 2014 and Case It, make sure you credit the original artist.

So it could be the colours, the design, layers, sketch.  You choose.

I decided to use a fabulous creation by Asha, you can check it our HERE.

And here is my take on the card.  I just had to use that pinwheel background.

I used the wonderful new release Work and Play 8 - Music.  This cool chick is on one of the pre-coloured design sheets.  I loved getting the little sewing machine out and adding the stitching.

All the elements of my card are from the CD.  I cut some little guitars with my Silhouette Cameo - to add to the card.  Aren't they cute :-)

For the inside, I added another pinwheel (which I didn't stitch) with a blank panel to leave a message, and couldn't resist adding another guitar.

Great for a music loving teen girl :-)

Now it's your turn.  Why not take a look through the fabulous creations and see what inspires you.

I am entering this card in the following challenges.

Hi Ya!

Hello everyone.  Happy first week of the New Year.  Have you all been busy?

It was my Birthday earlier in the week and for some reason I really do feel old this week LOL!

I think I maybe coming down with some dreaded lurgy, every muscle in my body is shouting at me and my throat is sore!

However, I did get a lovely gift card off my hubby which I will enjoy spending as and when I see something I need rather than want ;-)

It's Friday and it's inspiration week for us over at Polkadoodles.  My fellow teamies have made some fabulous creations, so please go take a look.  The challenge this week is Tic-Tac-Toe.

I used the diagonal Sentiment, Ribbon, Polka Dots.

I just love this character.  She is from the wonderful Work & Play 7 CD Collection.  However, you can also get here as a single digi to download HERE and the Work & Play 7 Download version HERE.

I used the pre-coloured image for my card and she is decoupaged.  It is one of the great design sheets of this wonderful collection.

For the inside I used the same papers as the front, all from this CD.

Adding the litte Yin and Yang to the corner on the inside and outside.  A bit of ribbon from me bit's and pieces box, placed beneath the image panel.

And of course adding the obligatory sentiment tickets (which I love) to the bottom corner.

This is the collection I used today.

Back to Craft :-)

Hi everyone!  Yay the girls are back in school - more time to craft :-)

I do hope you all had a fabulous festive season and here is to a most craftilicious Year 2015!

Today I have a quick make to share with you from the new Polka Doodles release,  Work and Play 8 - Music.  Once again filled with fabulous digis, papers, embellishments and cut files.

I decided to have a play with some of the many design sheets in the collection. The sheets contain everything you may need to make a quick card, but of course you can add stuff to them too.

I used the Guitar Boy design sheet and made up a quick easel card.

I love this little guy - such a cool character and great for a teen card.

I thought I would also share a close up of the RocknRoll.  This is a PNG and a cutfile on the Cd, along with lot's of others and the notes are too.

The little character is also available as an individual digi, along with downloadable digi paper downloads - currently in the new products section HERE.

All the elements on this card are from this fabulous new collection.

This is the collection I have used - doesn't it look fab.  If you would like to take a quick peak at what is in this fabulous collection.  Nikky has made a quick video which you can see on You Tube HERE!

And this collection is already also available as a complete collection download instantly HERE, after purchase :-) no waiting for the postie :-)

** Work & Play Collection 8 - BONUS EDITION

I shall be around to visit you all over the next few days - I haven't had much chance the last week or so :-)  I expect you will have all been busy and I will catch up as best I can.

Thanks for stopping by today.

Happy crafting.

Happy New Year!

Hi everyone.

I took a little break over the festive period - it was nice just to focus on family.

One of my New Years resolutions from 2014 was to see Andy home for good, and as you all know that happened eventually at the end of October :-)

We had a wonderful Christmas and I hope you did too.

New Years Eve, I tidied up my craft room ready for the start of a new creative year.

We had friends over for dinner yesterday to celebrate the New Years Day and it was so wonderful.

I am not making any major New Years resolutions this year - as I really didn't stick to the ones last year LOL!

Just one though and that is to continue to enjoy my crafting, and sharing my creations with all of you!

The girls start back to school on Monday.

Shannon has her first semester exams coming up a the end of the month.  So she will be busy studying for the next few weeks, and completing summatives. Also means that her Co-op placement at the Vet clinic will be coming to and end - she has so enjoyed the last 4 months and at  least her career path is going where she wants it to be :-)

Emily is still focusing on the fact she graduates this year and moves on to High School in Sept. Guess we will be shopping for a prom dress at sometime in the next few months :-)

So, once again, I wish you all a very Happy New Year and hope it is full of health and creativity and the making of new memories.

Oh and it's only....
