Fabulous Friday - A Christmas Box

Helloo !!!  Oh my, oh my, oh my!  Is it really the end of July?!

Have you all had a fabulous week.  Sorry not been about much this week, feeling decidedly under the weather.  Not sure if it has been a bug, the weather or me just getting old LOL!

Anyways, on to today's post.

It's the start of a new challenge over at Polkadoodles and this fortnights challenge theme is More than One Fold.

I have been wanting to have a go at one of these exploding boxes for a long time. So thought I would give it a try.

I have used the fabulous Picknix 3 - Nordic Winter collection for all the papers and embellishments.

The poinsettia on top is one leaf - that I then print and cut 4 at 3", 4 at 2" and 3 at 1", then layered and shaped.  I think I may have gone a bit over the top with the glitter though :-)

Here's the inside.  Layering up some embellishments. I love the stars.

For the centre I cut and layered a poinsettia wreath and then using a candle embellishment off the CD I formed a 3d candle and added some glitter to that too.

I did use some of the snowflakes off the collection that i cut using my Cameo and some shiny paper, just to add a little extra to the inside papers.  Along with some square sentiments from the Twiggy and Toots Festive Fun Collection.

Not sure if this really came out as I expected and I think I would maybe do things a little different if I make another one.  Think I lost the plot somewhere LOL!

Anyways, I hope you all have a fabulous weekend.  If you get time to craft and make something with more than one fold - why not go along and enter the challenge at Polkadoodles.  You have until Noon, GMT 14th Aug to enter.

Fabulous Friday - Twit of Christmas

Hellloooo!  How are you all?  Are you all having a fabulous Summer.

Just thought I would let you know that there are only

153 days
21 Fridays

till Christmas Mwahahahaha.

Anywhos, one of Nikky's latest releases at Polkadoodles is Twiggy & Toots Festive Fun Collection and boy is it so adorable.  It is jam packed with yumminess!!  You will already have seen some in my previous posts recently, however today I thought I would share with you the Owl Bag, there is a really easy to follow template in this collection.

We are into our second week of our "2 or more Patterned Papers challenge" over at Polkadoodles, so I couldn't resist using lots :-)

Isn't it cute!  And it was so easy to put together.  I did add some extra layers to the feathers and curled up their edges, to make them stand out a little more.  Also inked all the edges of all the layers.

I couldn't resist adding the lovely poinsettia - it's available as a sheet of flowers, that I traced and did print and cut with my Silhouette Cameo.  I added a little rhinestone to the centre too.

I even added a little depth to the nose, by not gluing it flat but raising it slightly in the middle.

I so love this bag!!  You cold even make the side panel wider, if you wanted to make the bag bigger in width.  Perfect for a little gift :-)

Anyways, it's your turn now to enter our challenge, 2 or more Patterned Papers, you have until Noon GMT, Friday 31st July, to enter.

I am entering this in the following challenges.

Hello Thursday - Springy Christmas :-)

It's Thursday and I hope that your week is going well.

This is the last of my samples (for now) to share with you, although I will be back tomorrow with my make for the challenge at Polkadoodles for our inspiration post, I might even give you a sneaky look at the end of this post :-)

So, once again using the wonderful new release, available for pre-order now! Twiggy & Toots Festive Fun.

I have used another delightful pre-coloured image and what now seems to be my go to technique of layering up the images.  I love doing this, as it adds so much depth to the card.

My card is a spring fold card and I did a tutorial for this, many moons ago, and you can find it HERE.

I really love this card shape - you could even use it to make some fabulous table decorations - hmmm now that's an idea !

I couldn't resist adding two of the lovely poinsettias on either side of the spring fold.

Love all the depth to the layers and I have inked all the edges.  The red layer has been cut using Spellbinders Large scalloped square.

Aren't they super cute!  And I love the vibrancy of the colours - Nikky's colouring is amazing!

And OK, OK, here is the little sneak peek.

I am entering this card in the following challenges.

What's new Wednesday - ♫An Owly-y in a Pear Tree-e♫

Hello.  Happy Hump Day my friends.

I am so loving these new collections and hope you are enjoying my regular posting - been a while since I last did this many postings in a week :-)

Using the fabulous Twiggy & Toots Festive Fun Collection.

I made a rather large tag using one of the fabulous tag embellishments.  Couldn't resist adding this gorgeous pre-coloured image, that was just perfect for layering too!

I inked all the edges of all the layers.  Isn't he adorable!

I used my Silhouette Cameo to cut out the tag, and the base of the image.  The rest of the elements are cut by hand!

This collection also has fabulous sheets of flowers, that I traced and then Print & Cut using the Silhouette too.  Look at the details on this wonderful poinsettia.  And love the square sentiments too, I layered them on some patterned paper, using the Spellbinders small scalloped square.

I inked and layered the flower, and added a rhinestone to the centre.

Now sing a long - "♫On the first day of Christmas my true love gave to me, an Owly-y in a pear tree-e♫" LOL, sorry couldn't resist :-)

Oh and another sneak peek.

Well I did say sneak :-)

'Tis Tuesday - Still Christmas :-)

Helllooo!  Hope you have a had a great start to the week.

I am loving this time off from school runs, however, I can't believe how quick this month is going by.

Once again, I am showing you another card from the wonderful Studio 12 Picknix 3 - Nordic Winter.

I had to have a go at this wonderful Concertina card.  But the pattern that I found HERE (thanks Christina) was a little on the big side, so adjusted the measurements and I have given them below for your use.

You will need a piece of card (patterned or plain depending on how you want to decorate it) that measures 10" by 6.5" and a panel piece that measures 5" by 5".

First score the 5" square piece at the centre point, 2.5", make a valley fold and put to one side.

Next take your 10" by 6.5" piece and score down from the long edge at 2.5", 5" and 7.5".(apologies for quality of photo on this one)

These will be a valley fold, a mountain fold and a valley fold.

Next you have to remove a panel from the centre as follows.

Between the 2.5 and the 7.5" score marks and 1.5" down from the top and up from the bottom, removing a 5" by 3.5" panel - you do not need this piece.

In the centre two sections you need to cut a slit - 0.75" long from the inside edge towards the top and the bottom, at the middle point of each of those sections.  Like this.

Here it is with a coloured panel so that you can see the slits.

Then the 5" by 5" panel from earlier will fit in the centre section - like so.

Here it is standing.

I hope that makes sense :-) it folds flat and is 2.5" by 6.5" when flat.

And here is my card using the new collection.

The chalkboard sentiment was actually changed in colour using Word - as I wanted it green and not black for this card.

I just love this card and can see me making a few more using this style!

I really do love these papers and fabulous digital elements.  I'll be back soon with another new collection to show you.  Would you like another sneak peek?  Ok then :-)

Eek - do you see the owly!   :-)

Thanks for stopping by today.

Happy crafting.

Sneaky Peeky Sunday and a Card

Happy Sunday everyone.

I have another lovely sample to share with you today from the wonderful Studio 12 Picknix 3 - Nordic Winter collection.

I used the fabulous pre-coloured image of the wonderful robin on a branch.  I printed it out several times and layered it up for added depth.

I added some holly in the corner with some Wink of Stella on the berries.  I did use my Silhouette Cameo to create a frame and base for the robin.  I just love the papers in this collection.

I must apologise for not decorating the inside of this card.  I managed to make some samples to actually send off to Nikky for her use and I was running short of time, the post always takes so long from here to the UK, so I wanted to get them posted.

I just love how the layers turned out, and the details on that robin are amazing!

Have a fabulous rest of the weekend.  Oh and here's another little sneak peek :-)

That's it for today.

I am entering this card in the following challenges.

Fabulous Friday - New Releases!

Hi everyone.  Hope you have all had a fabulous week.

We went to see the Minions movie earlier in the week - it was so fun.

I have some fabulous new releases by Polkadoodles to share with you today. They are available for pre-order now!  Nikky has been busy drawing up two fabulous new collections and these I have to say are amazing!

We have the new Studio 12 Picknix Collection 3 - Nordic Winter.

And the fabulous and cute Twiggy & Toots Festive Fun Collection.

Both of these collections are so versatile and full of amazing yumminess for you to drool over and get those Christmas items (yep I said it!) made nice and early so you are lovely and organised this year.

Over the next few days, I will show you some of the samples I have been making.

For today's make I wanted to share a triple easel card I made using this great tutorial from Splitcoast Stampers.  Using the Studio 12 Picknix 3 - Nordic Winter collection.

I used a Spellbinders large scalloped circle  to cut the pieces for my easel card.  All the edges of all the layers have been inked up.

There are fabulous papers, frames and images in this wonderful collection.  Very much a traditional collection with lots of ephemera, embellishments, cut files, papers and digital elements.  It really is a gorgeous collection.

Here's a sneak peek of another card I made - I will share with you in my next post :-)

Also, it's the start of a new challenge over at Polkadoodles and Team B is up with their fabulous inspiration.  The theme this fortnight is 2 or More Patterned Papers - why not go check out what they have been up to.

I am entering this card in the following challenges.

DigiStamps4Joy - Challenge #114: Anything Goes (closes 30 July)

Penny's Paper-Crafty Challenges - Challenge #236: Anything Goes (closes 21 July)
