Fabulous Friday - A Christmas Box

Helloo !!!  Oh my, oh my, oh my!  Is it really the end of July?!

Have you all had a fabulous week.  Sorry not been about much this week, feeling decidedly under the weather.  Not sure if it has been a bug, the weather or me just getting old LOL!

Anyways, on to today's post.

It's the start of a new challenge over at Polkadoodles and this fortnights challenge theme is More than One Fold.

I have been wanting to have a go at one of these exploding boxes for a long time. So thought I would give it a try.

I have used the fabulous Picknix 3 - Nordic Winter collection for all the papers and embellishments.

The poinsettia on top is one leaf - that I then print and cut 4 at 3", 4 at 2" and 3 at 1", then layered and shaped.  I think I may have gone a bit over the top with the glitter though :-)

Here's the inside.  Layering up some embellishments. I love the stars.

For the centre I cut and layered a poinsettia wreath and then using a candle embellishment off the CD I formed a 3d candle and added some glitter to that too.

I did use some of the snowflakes off the collection that i cut using my Cameo and some shiny paper, just to add a little extra to the inside papers.  Along with some square sentiments from the Twiggy and Toots Festive Fun Collection.

Not sure if this really came out as I expected and I think I would maybe do things a little different if I make another one.  Think I lost the plot somewhere LOL!

Anyways, I hope you all have a fabulous weekend.  If you get time to craft and make something with more than one fold - why not go along and enter the challenge at Polkadoodles.  You have until Noon, GMT 14th Aug to enter.

I am entering this creation in the following challenges.

Christmas Stampin' All Year Round - Challenge #52: Anything Goes (closes 4 Aug)

Simply Papercraft Challenges - Challenge #10: Anything Goes (closes 13 Aug)

Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge - Anything Goes (closes 5 Aug)

Crafting by Designs - August Anything Goes Challenge (closes 25 Aug)

Thanks for stopping by today.

Happy crafting.

  44. What a wonderful surprise for the recipient of this special keepsake! I MUST attempt to make a surprise exploding box for my granddaughter this Christmas. It would be fun to put pockets filled with small tokens on the inside panels. Thanks for much for this inspiration. It's beautiful! P.S. You DID NOT use too much glitter. After all.....it's for Christmas!
