Hello Thursday - Just a Little Hello

Hi everyone.  Little late in the day for me to do a post, however, I wanted to just pop in and have a quick natter :-)

Yesterday was our 20th Anniversary.  I can't believe it has been 20 years since we said I do.

Would you like to see a photo of us on our Wedding Day :-)  No - well I will anyways LOL!

So sweet then, look at me now!! :-)

I made a quick silly gift for Andy this morning - yep really quick. I used a one of the frames from Polkadoodles Twiggy & Toots collection - I wanted the weathered wood look.  Then I added the text, (the font is Broadway off my computer) stuck it to a small black canvas and voila - a really quick and silly gift :-)

I did get him a couple of proper gifts though, and after I gave him the one above I owned up that I had bought him some special ones.

The first is a metal model that is all made of old bit's and pieces, nuts and bolts etc.  He had spotted these a little while ago.  I told him it is about as close as he will get to having a motorcycle LOL!

The second one I had thought about doing as a personal homemade item but decided to have an engraving done instead.  It makes it even more special that I had put a little bit of thought behind it :-)

See if you can work out what all the numbers are :-)  Here's a close up of the wording.

Andy will understand what they are - he is forever sending me emails with stuff like that - especially when he was away in Winnipeg!

And here is what Andy got me :-)  I love this and such a beautiful figurine!

We are off out tonight on a date night to a local Italian restaurant, and no it isn't Pizza Hut LOL!

I hope you are all having a great week, I really appreciate each and everyone of you that takes the time to stop by - thank you!

Thanks for stopping by today.

Happy crafting.

Simply Saturday - Halloween! Mwahahahaha...

It's Saturday - well at least I think it is LOL!  Don't know where the time is going lately.  They say the older you get the faster time flies - ah well LOL!

I have a big favour to ask all my bloggie friends out there.  I know how you all love to enter challenges.  Do you think you could spread the word that there is a new Challenge blog around - Emerald Creek Dares.  We have fortnightly challenges and you could win a $25 gift certificate to the Emerald Creek store - that's full of fabulous goodies.  Thanks :-)

Emerald Creek Dares

Anyways, I have another creation for you today using my Emerald Creek goodies. And continuing with our Halloween theme for our latest challenge, I decided to make a tag!

Oh my I had some fun pulling this tag together.

I started off with Range Texture Paste first ever play session with the Texture Paste and I love it!  I used the Tim Holtz Stampers Anonymous Batground Stencil and a Ranger Inkssentials Manilla tag #8.

After watching some of Tim's CHA videos I also added some Black Embossing powder whilst the paste was still wet.  Then I set it aside to dry before heating it with my heat gun.

It had been sitting there for a few days - when I finally decided what to do with it earlier in the week. I got out some Ranger Distress Stains in Barn Door and Mustard Seed.  Sprayed some water on the tag first (I also did a spare tag for the top bit and sentiment), squished the stains all over the tags and sprayed some more - I might have gone a bit overboard with the water - but hit it with my heat gun and it as fine:-)

I have to admit I love how the colour blended and was perfect for this theme. Another first using the stains that have been sat on my shelf for over a year!

For Funny Bones I heat embossed him with some black embossing powder and added a little Distress Marker in Frayed Burlap to his bones.

The Pete's Place Pumpkins were stamped onto water colour card stock and then coloured with more Distress Markers - Wild Honey and Frayed Burlap.  However, as it's Halloween - I couldn't resist adding some scary faces to the pumpkins using another Distress Marker - Black Soot.

Can you see the shine on the embossed and texture paste bats :-)

I also added a strip of burlap that has been inked up with Ranger Adirondack Alcohol Ink in Sunset Orange.

Plenty of Halloween coloured ribbons and sentiment from my stash.  The edges of the tag layers were also inked using Distress Ink pad Dusty Concord.

And a really big first for me - I am entering this tag in Tim Holtz 12 Tags of 2015 - October!  I am not sure if it qualifies - but I did use lots of Tim Holtz products and it is Halloween themed :-)

So, don't forget the theme for our latest challenge at Emerald Creek Dares is Halloween! You could win a fabulous $25 gift certificate to the store!

I am entering this tag in the following challenges.

Fabulous Friday - Spooky Glitter :-)

Happy Friday!  Another week gone and a little closer to the big man coming!  But let's concentrate on Halloween first eh! :-)

Today is new challenge day at Polkadoodles and for this fortnight our theme is Add Sparkle, Bling or Glitter.  It doesn't have to be Halloween, it's just what I chose to make :-)

I couldn't resist using the fabulous bit's and pieces from the Witchie Witchie 2013 Download bundle. I did use my Silhouette Cameo to trace the tree, grave stones and bats and then I cut them out in black card stock. You might have noticed these in yesterday's creation too :-)

For the Pumpkins. I used the pre-coloured images and then added some glitter to the top one, I even added a little bit of purple glitter underneath for the face :-)

The sentiment on the moon is from the Spooky Sentiments download bundle.  The Boo to You is a wooden stamp in my stash :-)

For the inside, using the same papers as the front, which are from the Halloween/Autumn Paper Heaven Bundle 1.  Adding a little cute bat to the inside too :-)

To finish off the front, I couldn't resist adding some black glitter to the little bats.

Spooky enough for you LOL!

So, get crafting and go along and enter this latest challenge.  You have until Noon, GMT, Friday 6th November to enter. Polkadoodles Add Sparkle, Bling or Glitter.

Hello Thursday - Hanging with Funny Bones

Hello there!  Hope you are all having a fabulous week so far.

We are starting a new challenge over at Emerald Creek Dares blog today - please share with all your friends that there is a new challenge on the block and we would love for you to all come and take part in our challenges! You could a $25 gift certificate to the Emerald Creek Store. The theme is Halloween!

Emerald Creek Dares

Are you all getting ready for Halloween?  I have to admit I am not one for Halloween, but I did love making this latest project.

Ok, it's not just the skeleton LOL! - This is Funny Bones and you can get him as a stamp at Emerald Creek.

After stamping him up and to get him to hang like that, I cut him up and then used 4mm jump rings, jewelry thingy's, to join him back up again :-)

I decided to make a Halloween wall hanging, for a friend (who celebrates Halloween big style) and came up with this.  It is a 12" by 12" canvas used the wrong way around :-)

The coffin was first stained with a walnut stain and then I added some Black Soot Distress Paint around the edges and also scraped over the bats.  The bats were made using Ranger Texture Paste and a Tim Holtz Stampers Anonymous stencil called Batground :-)  I couldn't resist cutting up another Funny Bones to stick out of the side of the coffin LOL!  The Aztec Skull from Emerald Creek - was coloured up with Ranger Adirondack Alcohol Inks in Sunset Orange and Purple Twilight, I did snip off the little link from the top of the charm.

Some of his friends wanted to join the party too, after I had stamped them up - that is what Funny Bones looks like before I cut him up LOL!  And hence the sentiment Hanging with Funny Bones, this was typed up in Word using a font on my computer called Chiller :-)

The trees, fences, bats, grave stones are all from the Polkadoodles Witchie Witchie 2013 Bundle. I traced them using my Silhouette Cameo and cut them out in black card stock, adding a little orange behind the owl for the eyes :-) I added some Picket Fence Distress Paint to the black pieces to give it that smoky spooky feel :-)

The flying witch is part of an SVG cut file from Miss Kate Cuttables.  The spiders webs are also from Miss Kates Cuttables.  For the moon, I just cut a circle in cream card and inked it over with Ranger Distress Ink pad in Vintage Photo.

And there you have it my Spooky Halloween Hanging with Bones creation :-)

And whilst we are in the mood - here's a little sneak peek of something I made and will be on my blog on Saturday - so remember to come back LOL!

Now I know that lot's of you celebrate Halloween and make lots of creations - so why not go along and enter our challenge at Emerald Creek Dares and check out what the rest of the Design Team have created!
