Simply Saturday - Celebrate

Here we are and it's the weekend - yay!!

I have the last of my latest (for now) creations for Emerald Creek.  Why not check out what my teamies have been up to over at the Emerald Creek Dares blog. Our first ever challenge is up and running and the theme is The 80's.

I went all hearts and pastel colours for my 80's theme on this one.  What do the 80's say to you?  Come on get crafty and enter the challenge!

For today's creation I returned to the Balloon stamp that I shared with you earlier this week.  And after making my first book box card last week, I couldn't resist making another one.

My balloons, are coloured with my waterpen and Tim Holtz Distress Markers; Spiced Marmalade, Tattered Rose, Barn Door, Worn Lipstick and Frayed Burlap.

I also stamped the original balloon stamp in Tim Holtz Distress Ink - Stormy Sky, as well as using this on all the edges.

To create my frame I used Spellbinders Labels 8 dies.  All the papers are from a Basic Grey 6" by 6" stack called Soleil.  The plain coloured card stock is from my stash.  I also stamped the balloon on the message panel.

The Happy Birthday sentiment is from Tim Holtz Stampers Anonymous Saying Stuff stamp set.  For the front wording I used Tim Holtz Sizzix Thinlets.

Adding a little foam to the the layers to add a little more depth to the card.

Why not pop along to the Emerald Creek Dares blog remember we have started our first ever challenge and the the theme is The 80's.  Hmmm wonder what you will come up with.  You could win a $25 Gift Certificate to the store!

Fabulous Friday - Shaping Up

Helllo my friends.  Itttt's FRIDAY!  Yay :-)

How is everyone? Have you all had a great week?  My weeks seem to be just flying by and I don't know where the time is going!

Anyways, we have a new challenge starting over at Polkadoodles and our theme for this fortnight is your Favourite Card Shape - basically if it's your fave shape you can enter the challenge :-)

Now I wasn't really thinking of favourite shape but my favourite fold - so I ended up make a Z Fold card.  It's still a shape right?!  And it's rectangle which is a shape too LOL!

I used the fabulous Winston Deluxe Papercrafting Collection for my card.  All the papers and images are from this fabulous collection.

This is Etty in her new dress and she is also available as a single digi download for you to colour yourself.  I used the pre-coloured image off one of the design sheets, in this fabulous collection.

I absolutely couldn't resist adding this fabulous Floral Spray Charm from Emerald Creek - to my finished card.  All I did was snip off the little link and secured it to my card with my glue gun.

I inked all the edges of all the layers on my card with CTMH Sorbet.  I even used a Fiskars Decorative Corner rounder on all the backing paper base layers.

I also used the Spellbinders Labels 10 dies for my layer under Etty, and the inside layers of the message panel.

Isn't she adorable.  Etty is layered up a little, to add some extra depth to the card.

Now it is over to you.  Any card shape will fit the theme :-)  So pop along to Polkadoodles and enter the challenge.  You have until Noon GMT, Friday, 9th October to enter.

I am entering this card in the following challenges.

Simply Papercraft - Challenge #14: Anything Goes (closes 9 Oct)

Hello Thursday - A bit of Metal

Hello Thursday indeed - where are the weeks going?!

My second 80's themed card for Emerald Creek - and we DARE you to come and take part on our very First Challenge - with the theme as The 80's.

Emerald Creek Dares

For my next little bit of Emerald Creek Inspiration I used the fabulous Aztec Skull Charm.  This is a new release item and I have to say that the quality of these charms is amazing, they really have an amazing weight to them.

I couldn't resist altering the charm  a little.  The picture above is how the charm looks when you receive it.

I first got out my Clear embossing ink and squished it over the charm.  Then played with the Metallic Pan Pastels until I was happy with the colour and coverage.

I added a little bit of embroidery thread, that I first braided, to the charm to add to my card.

Once happy, I sealed the charm with some Prismacolor Matte Fixative spray.

Another of my favourite folds - is this Spring Fold card, I love how it becomes a display stand and card :-)

The yellow chevron paper is from a Basic Grey 6" by 6" Soleil stack, using the Spellbinders Stitched Oval, and the star paper is from a DCWV Rock Star stack.

All the edges of all the layers were inked with Tim Holtz Distress Ink Pad, Vintage Photo.

The music notes and Metal and guitar are all cut files (using my Silhouette Cameo) from the Polkadoodles Work & Play 8 - Feel the Music collection.  Cut from black card stock and then used the Pan Pastels again!

And there you have - a little bit of Metal :-)

What's new Wednesday - Buckle Up and Enjoy the Journey

Well hello everyone.  Happy Hump Day.

Today I am with you to show off the first of my makes using one (well two) of the new to me products from Emerald Creek.

You can see more of the Design Teams makes over at the Emerald Creek Dares Blog, and our first ever challenge has gone live :-)

For Challenge #1 we are having an 80's theme challenge, and whatever this means to you.

Emerald Creek Dares

For today's share I used the wonderful Balloon Stamp and one of the Buckle Charms

I first stamped the image on to plain white card stock and was then able to scan it and then size it however I wished.  Therefore able to print it off to give different size balloons.

My card is a Z Fold card shape, one of my favourite card shapes as it is quick to make the base and effective once decorated.

For me the 80's theme, was bright colours, chevrons and stars, so that's what I used :-)

I added the buckle charm and threaded a thin strip of the chevron patterned paper through and secured this to the front.  Along with a sentiment from the Tim Holtz Stampers Anonymous - Saying Stuff stamp set.  Here's a lovely closeup of that Buckle Charm!

I coloured up the balloons with Tim Holtz Distress Markers; Barn Door, Spiced Marmalade, Tumbled Glass, Tattered Rose and Frayed Burlap.

The papers are from My Minds Eye - Happy Day 6" by 6" stack, the layers have all their edges inked with Tim Holtz Distress Ink - Stormy Sky.

The ovals are Spellbinders Stitched Ovals die set.  I couldn't resist adding the original stamped image to the inside message panel.

I just love how this turned out!

Now then, how would you like to win a $25 gift certificate to the Emerald Creek store!  Click on the certificate will take you to the store where you can see all the loveliness you might want to buy.
