Fabulous Friday - Birthday Celebrations continue :-)

Happy Friday everyone. Wow, nearly at the end of May!

Polkadoodles 7th Birthday celebrations are still going strong.  Today I am sharing a scratched/mashed image off one of my teamies.  Don't know who did this one yet, but I will edit the post as soon as I find out.

It was Monica and you can find her creation on her blog HERE, there may be a surprise waiting for you ;-)

Why not pop along to our Polkadoodles Facebook page and join in the fun. We are also nearly at 3000 members so there will be more celebrations once we reach that goal, only 6 away!

So here is the image that my teamie mashed up, and it is coloured with my Lyra Rembrandt pencils.

After I coloured the image I then scanned the coloured image into my computer.

From there, I imported the image into Silhouette Design Studio, where I separated the sun (I wanted it a little higher) and then cut out several layers.

I coloured my image sort of washed out, because the pre-coloured background scene is a water-colour effect, the scene is from the wonderful Rose Budd Collection.

For the inside I used the background scene and just the sun from the digi image :-)

I couldn't resist using the Polkadoodles Ivy Cutfile to add some detail to the frame.

I love these pre-coloured backgrounds :-)

As soon as I find out who did the image I will put a link to her blog (see the top of this post), as she will have a little surprise for you.  Or you could pop along to the Polkadoodles Facebook page and beat me to it LOL!

I am entering this card in the following challenges.

'Tis Tuesday - Polkadoodles Birthday Celebrations

Happy Tuesday everyone.

Happy 7th Birthday Polkadoodles!

As this anniversary is normally called the "7 year itch", the Polkadoodles team have embraced the prickly feeling by scratching that itch and mixing/scratching up some new images ...  get the pun? Corny we know, but the team have had great fun. So, to embrace the "itchy scratch", the Polkadoodles team have thrown caution to the wind and "scratched up" a different kind of birthday celebration.

The birthday celebrations are in full swing and we are into week 2 of the celebrations,  Each day someone from the Polkadoodles team is sharing their "mixed/scratched up" image.  It's been all hush hush and secret squirrel too as no-one knows who has been busy creating what and when they will be revealing their image... so the Polkadoodles team get to join in the fun too :-)

Why not pop along to our Polkadoodles Facebook page too to join in all the fun.

Stay here for a little while though as I have mine to share today and a little surprise, at the end of my post, for you :-)

Firstly I used the Twiggy and Toots Collection to merge the fabulous birdhouses in this collection, and then I added some of the wonderful fat birds off the Winnie Fruit Punch Collection, put it all together to make a Bird Garden :-)

Something else I did, which I haven't done in very long time ......  I coloured the image!  Yep, I coloured!!!  I used water colour paper to print my image and then coloured it with Distress Markers.

After colouring the image, I scanned it and was able to use the scanned coloured image in my Silhouette Cameo to cut it out and layer it.  I couldn't resist using one of the pre-coloured background scenes from the wonderful Rose Budd Collection.

I used the scene again to form a frame on top of the base.  I also cut a few different layers of the bird garden to add some depth.

The flowers are also from the Twiggy and Toots Collection, which I have layered and added a pearl dot.  The sentiment "Welcome to the Neighbourhood" is from Cherryblossom Lane Collection.

For the inside I used the same background scene, I shrunk my coloured digi down to the corner and added a flower.  Plenty of room to write a message, so I didn't need to add a message panel.

I loved how this turned out.  What do you think of my mixed up image, the Bird Garden? :-)

Anyways, onto the surprise.  As a birthday gift to you, I have a 35% discount code for you.  It is valid until Midnight GMT, today 24th May, on individual downloads only.  So you best get shopping.

I suppose you would like the code LOL!

valid on individual downloads only (not collections)
(it is case sensitive so need to input as is)

So pop along to the Facebook page and see what everyone is up to.

So Sunday it is - Prom Pictures :-)

Hi everyone,  Happy Sunday.

I do hope you are all having a wonderful weekend.

I have some pictures to share of Shannon for her Prom Day, which was Friday past.

This is a picture of her before we had headed off to the hairdressers and makeup guru :-)

Now Shannon has never really worn makeup (follows her Mum), so she was hoping that it wouldn't be too much.  I think Yvonne (makeup guru) did an amazing job!  Shannon was so pleased she is going to have it done again for Graduation Day.

Our Hairstylist Karen (yep another Karen), did a beautiful job of her hair!

I hadn't realised how long Shannon's hair had got.

Just before departure to Prom.

We couldn't have asked for a better day 24c (75f) and not a cloud in the sky.

Sitting at the venue, waiting for her friends to arrive.  My beautiful daughter all grown up!

She had a most wonderful day/evening.  I am so proud of her and who she has become.

Next stop is Graduation on the 30 June.  Not long now!

Thanks so much for stopping by.

I will have something crafty for you in a couple of days.

Happy crafting.

Fabulous Friday - Birthday Celebrations and Prom :-)

Happy Friday everyone!!

It is Shannon's Prom Day today!  We have lot's to do today.  Pick up Shannon's corsage, have her hair done, have makeup done and then we are off to the prom for 4.30pm, for pre-prom photo's etc.  She will be out till midnight and just like Cinderella will be coming back from the ball :-)

She is so excited and I will post some photo's soon as I can :-)

Anyways, onto today's post.  Polkadoodles is celebrating 7 years in business this month and we are still having fun over at the Polkadoodles Facebook page, so why not pop along and say Hi :-)

We are also starting a new challenge and our theme for this fortnight is Birthday Celebrations :-)

I decided to use a pre-coloured image from the wonderful Winnie Fruit Punch Collection, to top my easel card for today.  You can also purchase her as a single black and white digi for you to colour up yourself, Winnie Wishes.

Everything for my card is from this fabulous collection.  I have inked all the edges of all the layers.

I couldn't resist layering up those beautiful flowers.

I love these butterflies and have been having fun using some wire and seed beads that I have had in my stash forever!

I am entering this card in the following challenges.

Fabulous Friday - Things with Wings

Hi everyone.

Sorry I haven't been about much lately, we are having some issues family wise that need to be attended to first and foremost, and unfortunately my blog has been a little neglected, along with my craft room.

Won't go into details but suffice it to say, things will get back to normal eventually :-)

Prom for Shannon is just a week away - yikes where did that time go!

I hope you have all had a wonderful week.

This week is inspiration week at Polkadoodles, for our Things with Wings challenge.  I had almost forgotten it was hubby's birthday this weekend, so I made a very quick card!

Delving through the Twiggy & Toots folder in the drawer (I always print off papers and extras, more than I need) I found a great topper, sentiment tickets and some fab papers.

Perfect pre-coloured topper, lots of layers and inking.

For the inside the same layers and a message panel with a little stamped owl in the corner.

I used this weeks sketch from Mojo Monday for my design, it worked perfectly.

And there you have it quick card made, ready for this weekend. Phew!

I hope you will all come along and enter our latest challenge, Things with Wings.  Also stay tuned as Polkadoodles is turning 7 this month and we are going to be having some Birthday fun :-)

I am entering this card in the following challenges.

Mojo Monday #447  (closes 15 May)

The Cutie Pie Challenge - Challenge #99: Escape to the Country (closes 6 June)

So Sunday it is - Floral prettiness :-)

Happy Sunday everyone.  It's raining out, so what better way to spend a Sunday but in the craft room, in between laundry duties :-)

Shannon and I had a successful shopping trip out yesterday, and had a lovely mum and daughter day :-)

Anyways, I have another card to share with you today.  Once again using the Polkadoodles Lemonade Fizz collection.

I have used another of the floral sprays from the collection, printed onto water colour card, more for the texture than anything else.

I loved layering up these flowers.  All the extra layers were cut using my Silhouette Cameo and then a Spellbinders Labels 8 Die for the main panel.

For the inside, once again using one of the toppers, from the collection, for the message panel.

All the edges of all the layers have been inked.  The flower centres were finished off using Flourish with a Bling pearl dots.

I love the font for the sentiment, also from the collection.  Once again using some seed beads and 26 gauge wire to make the butterfly body :-)

Hmmm, maybe I'll make a few more of these for a little gift set ;-)

I am entering this card in the following challenges.

Lil Patch of Crafty Friends - Challenge #33: Anything Goes (closes 14 May)
