Hello Thursday - Lavender Tea Gift Set pt 3

Another week nearly over and done with.

Andy and Shannon are off on a road trip tomorrow.  Off for an Open Day at the college that Shannon will be attending in September.  It's a 5 1/2 hr journey so they are heading out tomorrow and staying overnight, ready for the Saturday morning visit.  Shannon is really excited :-)

Anyways, here are the final two cards of the gift set, using Lavender Tea.  Once again a friendly postable card and a dimensional card.

I adore these flowers, they are so easy to layer and add dimension.

I love using foam tape to add dimension, even using the tiniest flowers to layer too :-)

I use my Silhouette Cameo to trace and cut all the pieces.  Evening using the fill option to fill the backing papers, so that all my layers are ready to go.

For the inside. Layering panels and inking the edges.

So pretty and elegant.

Come back tomorrow and I hope to have the gift box done for you.

Thanks for stopping by today.

Happy crafting.

What's new Wednesday - Lavender Tea Gift Set pt 2

Happy Hump Day :-)

I have the second two cards for you today.

Once again, one flattie and one fatty LOL!

The colour palette in this Lavender Tea collection is so elegant.

I love this teapot.  There's even a template in the collection to make a little teapot gift box; hmmm something else to get done :-)

Once again I layered up with foam tape, adding dimension to the flowers too :-)

I love the tags and frames in this collection, those frames make the perfect message panels too.

Inked all the edges of all the layers - I hate seeing white edges to the papers - how about you?

That's it for today, see ya tomorrow.  Oh and stay tuned there maybe news of another Polkadoodles new release!

'Tis Tuesday - Lavender Tea Gift Set pt 1

Happy Tuesday.  I hope you all had a wonderful Easter weekend.

I am going to be sharing 3 sets of two cards, of the next few days and then a gift box on Friday for the whole set.

I have used one of the wonderful new releases, Lavender Tea.

For this first set of 2, I have made one completely flat card (on the left) and one dimensional card.

For the flat card, I just merged all the pieces together printed and cut them out. For the second card, I added dimension by adding foam tape to the layers.

As always, I inked all the edges of all the layers.  Adding more dimension by adding layers to the flowers.

For the butterfly, I added a smaller butterfly to the larger to give it a real life look.  Added some little gold antennae and just secured it to the card at the body.

For the inside, I used one of the frame tags from the collection as my message panel and added a small butterfly.  For the flat version, I did the same but merged all the layers so that it was one piece of card.

I love them both, the flat would be good for posting and the dimensional card for giving locally :-)

I love these butterflies, they are so detailed.

Come back tomorrow for the next set of 2 :-)

I am entering this card in the following challenges.

Fabulous Friday - Springtime

Happy Friday everyone.  Well, I really did think Spring was on it's way here in Canada, but the temperatures this week have been quite chilly and guess what we had yesterday!  SNOW!  Just as the grass was making an appearance!

Anyways, hey ho, lets get on with some Springtime creating.  Polkadoodles challenge for this fortnight is Cream & Sugar, so coffee colours, pinks, cream and ivory.

I have used the lovely Winnie Sugar Sprinkles collection for my side easel card today.

All the layers have inked edges and I added some foam tape to some layers to add dimension.

I made this card for a Just Because occasion.

Love this papers in this collection - so wonderful.

Made it Monday - yesterday :-)

Happy Monday everyone.

The girls are back in school after having March break last week.  Now they have two short weeks because of Easter weekend.

I spent some time in the craft room yesterday, in between laundry loads. Didn't have time to take photo's yesterday so did them this morning.

Polkadoodles newest collections are available for pre-order purchase, to be released on the 31 March :-) They are gorgeous, if you love florals you will love these.  If you click on the pictures they will appear bigger :-)

There are also two new polymer stamp sets that compliment these new releases, called Lavender Tea Stamp Soup and Lemonade Fizz Stamp Soup.  All available for  pre-order now.

Anyways, on to my post for today.  Grab a coffee, or tea if you prefer, and sit awhile :-)

I started off yesterday by cutting out some of the flowers and butterflies, off each of the above sets. Then I added Glossy Accents to all the different sizes.

Then was the fun part of making up the following gifts.  After layering the flowers and butterflies.  These little frames are just 3" square, with the inner square being 1.5" :-)

Using Lavender Tea

Using Lemonade Fizz

I did ink all the edges of all the layers before adding the Glossy Accents. The worst part for me doing this project was waiting for the Glossy Accents to dry!

I used some Flourish with a Bling Pearl dots for the bodies of the butterflies.

For the butterfly antennae I use some stamen from some little teeny flowers that I had and inked them up :-)

I will have more to show you as soon as I can get back in the craft room.  I'm a little behind in my commenting and visiting, but hope to catch up in the next few days.  Can't wait to see what you have all been up to :-)

I am entering these in the following challenges.

Fabulous Friday - Gift Box

Happy Friday everyone.  Wow, these weeks sure are going by quickly.

The girls and I went to see the movie Zootopia earlier in the week, it was such a fabulous movie, great for the young and old LOL!

Anyways, we are continuing with our Spring Colours theme for our Polkadoodles challenge.

Earlier in the week I did a tutorial for my gift box that I am sharing with you today.  You can find it HERE.

My box is decorated using the wonderful Winnie Sugar Sprinkles collection.

All the edges of all my layers have been inked up.

I added some foam tape the picture layer and flowers to add some dimension to the card.

By adding layers to all the panels, you also add extra strength to the gift box.  I added a little brad that is perfect for the front of the drawer.

A perfect gift for a friend, who can then send out the little cards inside.

So, why not go along and enter our Spring Colours Challenge.  You have until Noon, GMT, Friday 25th March to enter.

I am entering this creation in the following challenges.

'Tis Tuesday - Easel Box Card Tutorial

Happy Tuesday.  I have a little bit of news to share before I get on with the post.

Shannon has been accepted by all three colleges she applied to, to become a Veterinary Technician. She has made her choice (which was the one she most wanted) and will be heading to Northern College, Ontario at the end of August.

I am so proud of her and all that she has achieved and can't believe she will be leaving home whilst studying (only 5 1/2 hrs away).  Shannon has wanted to be in veterinary work since she was about 8 years old and has always stuck with this. She is extremely excited and can't wait to start :-)

Anyways, back to the post :-)

Back at Christmas I made an Easel Card Gift box using a tutorial by Cristi of Paper Hoarder Disorder.  You can find her tutorial on You Tube HERE. (The finished box is 4" by 4" by 1" deep)

Now, last week, you may recall that I made a little set of  cards using the wonderful new collection at Polkadoodles called Winnie Sugar Sprinkles. Here's the set of 6 :-)  If you want to see the original post with more photo's of the set, click HERE.

My cards were 4" by 4", so I made up some envelopes for them using the We R Memory Keepers Envelope Punch Board.

So now I have a complete little set to make into a gift.

The envelope size is 4 1/8"  I decided to make a gift box using the tutorial above, but of course I had to change the sizes to fit my gift set :-)

My finished gift box is 4.75" square by 1.25" deep. I probably could have made it a little smaller, but the set sits nicely in there without getting squished :-)

So, if you would like to grab a coffee, now would be a good time :-)

Clicking on the photo's will make them bigger if you need to :-)

I used 110lb Card stock from Michaels to make up the Easel card gift box.

1. You will need to cut two pieces of card stock that are 6.5" by 4.75". Please NOTE, only one of the pieces needs tape applied to the 0.5" section.

2.  Join the two pieces together and you will have a piece that is 4.75" by 12.5" long.

3.  Score this piece, along the long edge, at 0.5", 1.75", 6.5" and 7.75".  I suggest you put the joined edge facing the right, as the 6.5" score will butt up against the join :-)

4.  After scoring fold along the score lines and attach tape to the small 0.5" piece at the end.

5.  This forms your box to put the drawer into.

6.  Now for the drawer.  You will need a piece of card stock that is 7 1/8" square.  You will score this on all 4 sides at 1.25".

7.  Once scored, I have cut along either side of the score lines up to the inner square.  This will help when putting the drawer together.  If you are unsure what I mean check in the video link above :-)  Add tape to all four corners and assemble.

8.  In order to strengthen the box.  Cut the following.

Secure the square to the inside bottom of your drawer, and then secure the side pieces to the inside sides LOL!  It really does make a difference and gives it that little extra strength.

9.  Next up is the Easel top for the box.  You will need a piece of card stock that is 9.5" by 4.75", you will score along the long edge at 2 3/8" and 4.75".

Fold the score lines and this will be your easel.

10.  Another piece that is 4.75" square to attach to your Easel.

Then attach this whole Easel section to the top of your box.  All you need to do now is decorate how you want :-)

If you would like to see how my box turned out - I'm afraid you will have to come back Friday.  This post was already photo heavy and hey, it's another post :-)

Hope this all makes sense, if at anytime your unsure Cristi's video is fab and the link is at the start of this post.  All I did was change the measurements :-)

Thanks for stopping by today.

Happy crafting.
