Today I would like to wish my husband a very (nearly over the hill LOL) Happy Birthday. As he can't make it home this weekend, for the long weekend, he is going on a road trip (I wish we were going with him). So, his birthday present is a trip for 3 days down to Mount Rushmore and Devils Tower. A good twelve hour drive from Winnipeg, but he seems up for it :-)
I gave you a sneak peek on Sunday of his card. So here it is. I used the same Mojo Monday Sketch #292, this one can't be entered in the challenge though, but I so liked this sketch that I had to use it again.
Not sure where I was going with this one, but am really pleased with how it turned out.
The papers are all from a DCWV stack called The Timeless Type. If you look close to that top script layer under the clock (clicking on it might make it bigger), I managed to find a section in the 12" by 12" piece with the words, you are my everything, to love forever, heart and love conquers all :-) Thats how much he means to me.
The clock and key are from a Miss Kate Cuttables file called Lock & Key. I just used the key and the clock from the file, using my Silhouette Cameo to resize them and they cut perfectly.
All the layers and the clock have been inked with Tim Holtz Tea Dye distress ink and I added a little black to the face of the clock too.
Used my sewing machine to stitch around those three main layers. I have shown a close up at an angle into the light, as I wanted to show you that the bottom section with the keys on is actually glossy.
For the inside I used the same papers as the front.
One of those pesky men cards completed :-)
This card is being entered in the following challenges.
Paper Creator's Crafts - Challenge #8: For the Boys (closes 17 May)
DL ART Thankful Thursday Linky Challenge: Anything Goes (closes 31 May)
Thanks for stopping by today.
